Membership Terms & Conditions

I hereby agree that The Self Care Sisterhood, its Directors, or anyone acting on their behalf shall not be liable, for any loss, damage, or personal injury suffered by me, whether directly or indirectly arising out of any act or omission by The Self Care Sisterhood, its Directors or Agent. I am aware of the possible health and safety risks associated with participating in physical exercise (i.e. weightlifting, yoga, movement, pilates) and consent to any reasonable exercise, which may from time to time be strenuous.
I have made The Self Care Sisterhood or anyone acting on their behalf aware of any relevant medical or health problems that I currently am, or am likely to suffer from and have obtained a clearance from a registered medical practitioner to participate in physical exercise.
I indemnify and will at all times hereafter well and sufficiently indemnify and keep fully indemnified The Self Care Sisterhood, its owners, teachers or representatives from and against all actions, suits, causes of action, proceedings, claims, costs and expenses whatsoever which may be taken or made again The Self Care Sisterhood, its owners, teacher or representatives, incurred or become payable by The Self Care Sisterhood, its owners, teacher or representatives, in connection with or arising out of any such injury, illness or mishap to me.
When attending The Self Care Sisterhood, whether in person or via LIVE streamed classes I agree:
I will faithfully follow all instructions given to me by The Self Care Sisterhood and its teachers as to when, where, and how to perform and not to perform the exercises presented to me in class.
I understand and acknowledge that I am to receive instruction in strength training (both with weights and bodyweight), pilates, yoga, boxing, mobility, dance and meditation only. The Self Care Sisterhood, its owners, teachers or employees are not liable for, nor expected to provide and advice, training or medical assistance other than in the form of exercises such as strength training, mobility, pilates, yoga and meditation.
I acknowledge sole responsibility for any personal equipment.
I consent to receive medical treatment, which may be deemed necessary in the event of injury, accident or illness.
The tuition paid by me to The Self Care Sisterhood is non-refundable. The Self Care Sisterhood may in its sole discretion grant refunds to me without prejudicing any of its rights.
If you are under the age of 18yrs, a signed consent by your legal guardian must be provided and obtained.
Membership at The Self Care Sisterhood
In order to attend a class with us you will need to sign up in advance via the momence website or app. Your membership with us has exclusive use. If a Member allows their membership to be used by another person for the purpose of obtaining admission, the person to whom we have membership contract with will forfeit all claims and rights to the membership and ceases to be a Member at The Self Care Sisterhood.
Credit rollover (for part-time memberships)
For 1 or 2 class p/week memberships, unused credits will automatically rollover for up to 30 days. New credits will be added when your weekly payments go out and can be used to book any group class.
Membership Benefits
Access to any timetabled classes, Access to our private Member’s Only FB group, Access to the following monthly classes & events: Regular Sisterhood Sessions. Bring a friend for free to any Saturday class.
Class cancellation policy
Class sizes are limited to 12-16 people (depending on class style). You must book your class ahead of time on the Self Care Sisterhood app. Class bookings close 10 minutes before class start time. Cancelling your booking under 3 hours before class start time while result in forfeiture of class credit (for class pass clients) or a $15 fee (for clients on a membership). This cancellation policy is in place to ensure that a member can no longer attend a class that someone else may utilise their space in the class instead. Class bookings can be cancelled momence website or app.
Membership Pauses
Membership upgrades
If you choose to temporarily upgrade your membership to a personal training/small group PT membership, please note that the present contract will be paused for the duration of your upgrade, and resume when it finishes.
We do not offer membership downgrades.
Membership Cancellations
If I wish to terminate my membership with the Self Care Sisterhood before the agreed upon expiry date (stated in your contract), I must pay 75% of the fees for the remainder of the membership term as an upfront cancellation fee. If 6 weeks or less remain on the membership, the full remaining membership fees must be paid. For short-term (3 month or 6 month) memberships, the full remaining membership fees must be paid as a cancellation fee. In the event of client moving away, 4 weeks notice and proof of change of address (at least one hour's drive away) must be given for membership to be terminated early.
Payment of Fees
Payment can be made by either credit or debit card. Card information is encrypted and stored by our software provider, momence. Card details can be added or updated through the momence/'The Self Care Sisterhood' app under the 'account' section, or by logging in on momence.com
Unsuccessful Payments
If there are insufficient funds for whatever reason at the time of the direct debit The Self Care Sisterhood will attempt to process your payment again for a total of 3 retries, each 48 hours apart. In the event of all attempts failing, a direct debit rejection fee of $9.90 may be charged and we reserve the right to try for this payment until successful. You will be sent an automated email notification of each unsuccessful attempt. Membership Fees will continue to be debited from the Member’s chosen account until the Member, or The Self Care Sisterhood, cancel the arrangement in line with the Cancellation of Membership clause of these Terms and Conditions. If at any time the Member’s membership fees are overdue The Sisterhood may terminate the membership or suspend booking privileges with immediate effect. To avoid additional charges or disruption to your service please contact The Self Care Sisterhood and let us know if you require alternative payment arrangement or need to alter your payment schedule.
Querying a Payment
If you have any questions around a payment or charge you can contact hello@theselfcaresisterhood.com.au We will do our best to respond within 7 days. If you are not happy with our response, you may contact your financial institution.
Staying Up-To-Date with Our Terms
It is the responsibility of the Member to inform The Self Care Sisterhood of any changes to the Member’s personal details that are relevant to the Member’s Contract. We will notify you by placing a notice in the studios, publishing on our website or social media pages or speaking to you via phone or in the studio or writing you an email.
Communication & Education from The Self Care Sisterhood
All members are added to our SCS email mailing list and SMS list - to support you & your education as a member during your membership.
Variations
We may sometimes add to or change our terms and conditions. This includes changing class times, amount of classes, teachers, opening and closing hours on public holidays, our services and facilities and membership fees. We do not reduce your membership fees because your studio is closed for renovations, a class is cancelled or for reduced schedule during public holidays.
Use of Images
From time to time our teachers may take a photo/video during class- generally to celebrate a client’s small victory.
SCS Member Code of Conduct
We are a weight-neutral and Health at Every Size space, so we don't discuss intentional weight loss or dieting in our studio. We do not tolerate any forms of fatphobia, discrimination or body shaming. This policy is in place to keep our studio as a safe space for those with eating disorders, mental illness, or body image issues. We have a zero tolerance policy on bullying behaviour (put downs, body shaming, rudeness etc) whether in class or at any of our SCS social events. By accepting these terms, you are committing to adhering to this studio code of conduct. We reserve the right to suspend and cancel any membership/package of any person whom has violated these term
